Highlighting the industrial heritage

Located in the block between Rue Masui and Avenue de l’Héliport, the site currently comprises industrial buildings of an eclectic style whose façades on Rue Masui were awarded a prize in 1915.

The project aims to enhance the existing preserved warehouses by transforming them into a local commercial space on the ground floor. Above this, ten lofts will be created in the sheds. The renovation of the office buildings and of the caretaker’s lodge aims to transform them into four individual houses. This transformation will take place with due respect for the historical aspect of the site and the industrial character of the buildings. The award-winning façades on Rue Masui will be renovated.

To the east of the site, the project recreates a traditional residential block structure whose centre will be emptied of housing and planted with greenery. Two distinct and homogeneous building alignments demarcate this block interior, integrating harmoniously into the context of the street by means of a new 11-flat building on Rue Masui and a 23-flat building on Avenue de l’Héliport.   By freeing up the interior of the block, the site and the neighbourhood in general will benefit from stronger visual and landscape qualities.
